2019: VACANCY IN ASO ROCK VILLA
By
Ugo Onuoha
THE ASO Rock Villa is the official residence of the President of Nigeria.
And the First Family. It’s a huge and sprawling complex nestled at the foot of
one of the hills of Abuja, Nigeria’s federal capital. It’s a fortress. It’s not
friendly to the people who are supposed to own it. This is understandable even
if not acceptable. The Villa was virtually conceptualized and built by the
military junta of General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.

THE URGENCY OF ATIKU'S PRESIDENCY 2: NNPC
By UGO ONUOHA
The presidential candidate of the of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP], Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s promise in his manifesto for the 2019 election to 90% of the federal government’s stake in the national oil behemoth, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation [NNPC], has stirred up controversy even from unlikely quarters. We had expected that there will be wholesale and nationwide commendation of the uncommon courage exhibited by Atiku in this policy thrust. Ordinarily, you would expect the candidate to leave things the way they are, and continue the age-long habit of successive administrations in using the NNPC for slush funds.

THE URGENCY OF ATIKU'S PRESIDENCY 1: NNPC

BY UGO ONUOHA
For several years Nigeria’s national oil
corporation has consistently andrepeatedly been associated with sleaze,
corruption and fraud. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, now Emir of Kano lost his job as
Central Bank of Nigeria [CBN] governor in part because he blew the whistle on
the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation [NNPC] for docking and keeping for
itself billions of United States dollars that should have been paid into the
Federation Account.
PDP vs APC
In 1999, The PDP met an economy
without the likes of MTN, Airtel, Glo, Etisalat, Dangote Cement, NIPP,
Shoprite, privatized NEPA and many more. There were no agencies like ICPC,
EFCC, to fight corruption. No regulatory agencies like NERC, NCC, PPPRA etc,.
No due process or procurement Act, no UBE Act, and many other laws. No
Communication satellites, and many other creations of the PDP.
Bellow is a brief list of PDP
achievements:
**Abuja National Stadium
**Revamping of the Railway Sector
**Launching of the first
Satellite into space
PETER OBI AND FATHER MBAKA
Our fathers always advised their
children never to succumb or do something out of shame. They used this
statement: ejina ifele noo ukwara (don't swallow the phlegm out of shame). It
sounds so easy but we all are guilty of it. I am the chief culprit, I have done
a million things just to save my face. But what Peter did yesterday at
adoration ground showed that character cannot be counterfeited.

NIGERIANS ARE IN FOR IT
A Paris-based Nigerian reacted after a meeting with PMB and Nigerian Community in Paris.
Few hours ago, a good friend rang me from France and was literarily crying. He told me he went all the way from his base in France to Paris to be part of the group of Nigerians meeting and brainstorming with PMB and his delegation. According to him(and he’s one reliable, sober and cerebral friend), WE ARE IN FOR IT!

PMB didn’t seem to be aware of his immediate environment.
Abike Dabiri was the moderator of the event but Buhari couldn’t even
recollect her name. Before the session started, they were frisked and
their mobile devices were taken from them before entry.
Excerpts The Our Meeting With the National Chairman, National Coordinator and Working Arms of the ATIKULATORS MASS NETWORK & PWDs ATIKULATORS - Monday 12th Nov. 2018
The National Coordinator for PWDs ATIKULATORS also stated that
considering that the successive past governments have always viewed the
PWDs in the polity as persons to be given stipends and discarded after
the elections, it had become imperative that we come with a bargain on
our own terms and make our issues of utmost importance, especially the
Disability Act that has been lying fallow, before the coming election.

A REQUIEM FOR THE LIFELESS ONE
By Femi Fani-Kayode
”A voice is heard in Ramah,
mourning and great weeping. Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be
comforted because they are no more”- Jeremiah 31: 15.
O lifeless one, you have lost all
sense of decency and you are drunk with power.
As the children are murdered in
cold blood and cut short in the streets of Abuja by your soldiers
